Delete Your Account
Last updated: 18 August 2026
You can delete your Invoice4You account and everything in it at any time, from inside the app. This page explains how to do it, exactly what gets deleted, and what you should do before you delete.
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and no way for us to restore an account once it is gone. If you may need your invoices later — for your own tax records, for example — export them first.
1. How to delete your account
Option A — In the app (recommended)
- Open Invoice4You on iOS, Android, or the web app.
- Open the Profile tab and scroll to Danger Zone at the bottom.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. If you signed up with a password, you will be asked for it. If you signed in with Apple or Google, you will be asked to type the word DELETE instead.
That is the whole process. You do not need to contact us, and nothing is queued for review.
Option B — By email
If you cannot get into the app — you have lost access to your login, or uninstalled the app — email support@invoice4you.app from the address on the account, with the subject "Account deletion request". We will verify it is you, delete the account, and confirm when it is done. We aim to complete this within 3 working days and will not take longer than one month.
2. What gets deleted
When you confirm, all of the following is deleted from our database immediately:
- Your account, name, email address and sign-in credentials
- Every company profile on the account, including bank details, VAT details and logo
- Every client record
- Every invoice, quote and credit note, with all their line items
- Every expense, including mileage and home-office records
- Every file you uploaded, including receipt photographs and logos
- Your push notification tokens, app preferences and settings
- Your session data — you are signed out everywhere
Nothing is kept back, anonymised or archived. We do not retain a shadow copy of your business records after deletion.
3. Sign in with Apple
If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also revokes the app's access to your Apple ID, so Invoice4You disappears from the list of apps under Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple on your device.
If that revocation cannot be completed — for example you dismiss the Apple prompt — your account is still deleted. We will never leave you stuck in an account because a secondary step failed. You can remove the app's authorisation yourself from your Apple ID settings at any time.
4. What we cannot delete
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Invoices and quotes already emailed to your clients | Once an email has been delivered it is in your client's mailbox. We cannot recall it, and our email provider keeps delivery records under its own retention terms. |
| Encrypted platform backups | Our hosting provider takes routine encrypted backups. Deleted data can persist in those for a short period until they rotate out. It is not accessible in the app, and we do not restore it. |
| Technical server logs | Our hosting platform keeps short-lived request logs for fault diagnosis. They are deleted on the platform's own schedule. |
| Records held by Apple or Google | If you signed in with Apple or Google, those companies hold their own records of that under their own policies, which we do not control. |
5. Export before you delete
Your invoices are your business records, and HMRC generally expects a business to keep them for several years after the relevant tax year. That duty is yours, not ours — we are not your record keeper, and deleting your account here does not satisfy or remove it. Once you delete, we have no copy to give you.
- Open the app and go to the Profile tab, Account section.
- Tap Export My Data for a full copy of your account, or export a CSV of your invoices and profit & loss.
- Save the file somewhere you will still have it in six years — not only on the phone you are about to sign out of.
If you work with an accountant, send them the export before you delete.
6. If you change your mind
A deleted account cannot be restored. You are welcome to sign up again at any time, but the new account starts empty — your previous invoices, clients and history are gone.
If you signed up with Apple, signing up again with the same Apple ID creates a genuinely new, empty account.
7. Questions or problems
If anything goes wrong with deletion, email support@invoice4you.app and we will respond within 3 working days.
For data protection concerns you can contact us at privacy@invoice4you.app, or complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
